Spectacular Classic Car event in St. Moritz delights drivers and spectators alike.
Following the success of the 2022 edition, one of the most original Concours d’Elegance was now back in the Engadine: the ICE St. Moritz, which brought the best from the world of classic cars to the picturesque backdrop of the frozen Lake St. Moritz. Once again, collectors from around the world were treated to the unique experience of driving their cars on the snow-covered slope that normally serves as a backdrop for horse races and polo matches.
Launched in 2019, the event already has a large following for its unprecedented mix of location and seasonality, as well as sport and culture.
Despite the uncertain weather, also this year the spectacle exceeded the expectations of car aficionados. Already on the first day, Friday, about 50 classic cars and supercars were exhibited on the frozen lake. The Mercedes-Benz C 111-II was one of the favourites of the exhibition – after all, the prototype can not be bought. But also the Lancia Sibilo, the Lancia Stratos Zero HF, the AC Cobra 289 or the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Competizione attracted many glances.
Finally, on Saturday, things really got going. Numerous owners raced their sports cars across the lake and were judged by an international jury in various categories.
BAVARIA AG was also in on the action; after all, one of the business areas of the specialist broker is the insurance of classic cars. Sandra Ahrabian, herself the owner of an Italian classic car, was enthusiastic about the ICE: “A fantastic event in front of an impressive panorama. I have not been there the last time, both for business and for pleasure.”
