When the Cannes Yachting Festival comes to the Côte d’Azur from 12 to 17 September, it is considered the – unofficial – opening of the trade fair autumn on the Mediterranean. The festival is one of the most important events worldwide for shipyards and brokers who sell and produce boats and yachts between 15 and 35 metres in length. Around 700 exhibits and 600 exhibitors are expected in the two ports on the Croisette, the Vieux Port and the Port Canto.
Based on the last editions, the sailing and pre-owned yachts will dock in the Port Canto and the motor yachts in the time-honoured Vieux Port. All the well-known brands have entered; numerous world premieres have been announced for the estimated 55,000 visitors. Among the largest exhibits this year are a Benetti Oasis 40, an Amels 55, a Custom Line 140 and an ISA GT45. For sailors, the Swan 78, the Southern Wind 96 and the Long Island 85 are among the maxi formats on display.
The festival will also be a very special event for BAVARIA AG, as the company is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Sandra Ahrabian, who took over BAVARIA AG from her father and gradually expanded it, says: “The show in Cannes is a very important appearance for us, because many of our customers are there to find out about the new products for the coming season. We are therefore on site with a large team to advise on any insurance issues. For the anniversary, we will invite some of our valued business partners.”
